Labor Rules

Use the Labor Rules screen to set your labor parameters, such as how you define overtime in hours and days worked. You can set these parameters according to your labor laws and company policies.

When you set up the parameters for overtime rates, you define the overtime rate itself and when you want LiveIQ to apply those rates. For example, you may define Overtime Rate 1 as time and a half and Overtime Rate 2 as double time. In this case, you would set the conditions to receive double pay to be greater than those for time and a half.

LiveIQ evaluates the time clock data to determine if and when to apply overtime rates. Time where overtime is due is included only once. In addition, LiveIQ applies either Overtime Rate 1 or Overtime Rate 2, never both rates, for that time.

LiveIQ uses each parameter to calculate the overtime per day, taking the greatest contribution to overtime each day and totaling it for the week.

  • If you specify greater than five hours per day, any time beyond five hours per day would count toward the current week’s overtime.

  • If you specify greater than 15 hours per week, any time beyond 15 hours per week would count toward the current week’s overtime.

  • If you specify greater than three continuous days and at least 20 hours, any time greater than 20 hours after the third consecutive day would count toward the current week’s overtime. Continuous days can span week-ending dates.
